THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Today, most people are up against different adversities. This is the reason why you will find organizations offering help to those people who are in need of it. For students, especially the freshmen who happen to be experiencing the problems of the move from secondary school to college, they are also given several guidance by school through mentoring applications. Facing all their new environment would mean facing challenging and different obstacles within their career. But how do they face some difficult scenarios that come up during their adolescent years? What would be the effect of these inconsistant demands for their day-to-day existence? How would these the younger generation respond in several adversities?

Adolescence, defined in books, as the changeover period that links years as a child and adult life (Davis et al. 2004). Erikson referred to it as being a moratorium, a temporal and psychological space between the reliability of the child years and the autonomy of adulthood (Santrock, 2003). Adolescents are prone to peer pressure that can superb influence or perhaps impact to their attitudes, principles, and behaviors.

According to Mendoza (2005), peer group is a contributory factor to a adolescent. This provides you with strong inspiration for gaining social learning. He begins to associate with individuals. This sociable relationship along with his group forms strong developing among them. This peer group influences his behavior and decision. As well as the fact that children are prone to sociable pressure and conflicting demands, 3 the administration of First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) formed the mentoring system that is in connection to the mission and vision assertion of the Organization. The Company launched the mentoring software to provide the scholars with assistance as they encounter the challenges of college lifestyle. Initially it was for Education students then the program have been expanded to incorporate all the classes. Faculty associates act as teachers to each student to check her or his academic performance, to help deal with concerns and usually oversee the development of the student as an individual and a true specialist.
